Law360 (July 16, 2020, 5:45 PM EDT) -- In the first half of the year, the Seventh Circuit determined that federal courts have standing to hear claims over whether defendants violated Illinois' landmark biometric law, giving some clarity to both the plaintiffs and defense bars in an area of litigation where appellate rulings have been limited.
Additionally, Illinois' high court determined that Sherwin-Williams, Conagra and other paint manufacturers aren't on the hook for mandatory blood tests to check for lead, in a case that's been making its way through Illinois courts for two decades.
