Law360 (October 20, 2009, 4:28 PM EDT) -- L-3 Communications Corp. will pay more than $875,000 to settle a collective action alleging the defense contractor misclassified military recruiters and failed to pay them overtime compensation as required by the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Judge David L. Russell of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma on Monday approved the settlement, which covers 210 people who worked as recruiters for L-3 or its subsidiary, MPRI Inc., from June 2005 to June 2008.
The settlement includes $500,484.21 for the plaintiffs, in addition to $332,261 in attorneys' fees and $42,738 in costs, according to a joint motion for approval...
