Denny's Settles Employee Lawsuit For $1.7M

Law360 (November 6, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Family restaurant chain Denny’s will pay $1.7 million to settle a proposed class action suit that claimed the company violated California’s meal and rest break requirements, according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing submitted Monday.

South Carolina-based Denny’s Corp and its California subsidiary Denny’s Inc. will distribute the settlement money to approximately 36,000 people who were employed by the company in California between April 4, 2002 and August 16, 2006.
