Exxon Bashes DC Bid To Make Climate Suit A Local Matter

Law360 (October 16, 2020, 3:26 PM EDT) -- ExxonMobil Corp. and other oil giants urged a D.C. federal court to maintain jurisdiction over the U.S. capital city's suit accusing them of deceiving consumers about climate-change-related risks, saying the suit minces words to obscure its true goal of curtailing fossil fuel use.

Exxon, BP PLC, Chevron Corp. and Royal Dutch Shell PLC fought the District of Columbia's bid to remand the suit to the local court in a brief Thursday.
