Verizon Wins ERISA Dispute Over Pension Plan Error

Law360, New York (November 4, 2009, 4:26 PM EST) -- A federal judge has ruled for Verizon Communications Inc. in a proposed class action seeking up to $1 billion in additional benefits because of an alleged error in the language of the company's pension plan.

Magistrate Judge Morton Denlow of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois ruled Monday that the former employees who brought the case were not entitled to any additional plan benefit distributions.
