Inventor Group Calls PTAB Reviews An 'Ongoing Catastrophe'

By Melissa Angell (October 27, 2020, 11:01 PM EDT) -- Inventor group U.S. Inventor doubled down on its request to temporarily ban the Patent Trial and Appeal Board from launching new reviews, referring to the current process as an "ongoing catastrophe" in California federal court Monday.

In response to U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Director Andrei Iancu and a group of tech giants, U.S. Inventor urged U.S. District Judge Edward J. Davila to "preserve the status quo" as the case moves closer to a final judgment by temporarily pausing new PTAB trials. The group also said that the tech companies and the government stifle innovation.
