Kinder Morgan Unit Settles With Mass. AG Over Pipeline Spill

Law360 (November 3, 2020, 6:25 PM EST) -- A Kinder Morgan unit has agreed to pay up to $800,000 to cover penalties and road repair work as part of a settlement with Massachusetts over claims it polluted wetlands during the construction of a natural gas pipeline.

Kinder Morgan's Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co. LLC and contractor Henkels & McCoy struck a settlement with Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey in state court on Monday that provides they'll pay $300,000 in penalties.

Healey's office went after the pipeline for allegedly discharging more than 15,000 gallons of tainted pipeline wastewater directly into the ground during construction of the so-called Connecticut Expansion Pipeline project...
