Citi Judge Questions Jurisdiction In 'Mistake' Transfer Case

Law360 (December 2, 2020, 11:03 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge said on Wednesday that he had "regrettably" overlooked a potential jurisdictional problem in Citibank NA's suits over a $900 million "mistake" payment that was made to Revlon Inc. lenders.

In a brief two-page order, U.S. District Judge Jesse M. Furman said Citibank hasn't established that the Southern District of New York has subject-matter jurisdiction in its three lawsuits against Brigade Capital Management LP, HPS Investment Partners LLC, Symphony Asset Management LLC and other investment companies.
