Texas Court Grants Summary Judgment To Patentholder

Law360 (November 16, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a ruling that could have implications for some of the biggest names in the wireless industry, a federal judge in Texas has granted an Australian government agency’s motions for summary judgment of validity and infringement of a patent it holds pertaining to a wireless local area network.

U.S. District Judge Leonard Davis’ ruling comes in the context of an infringement suit filed in February 2005 by Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) against Japanese Buffalo Inc. and its U.S. subsidiary.
