High Court Won't Hear Green Group's Obama Center Dispute

Law360 (April 26, 2021, 5:56 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court declined Monday to hear an environmental group's bid to revive its lawsuit challenging the city of Chicago's approval for former President Barack Obama's planned $500 million presidential center in a public park.

The high court's refusal to take up the case leaves in place a Seventh Circuit ruling from August, in which a three-judge panel said the group and others who fought placement of the presidential center in the city's South Side neighborhood did not have standing to allege violations of the takings clause of the Fifth Amendment or the due process clause of the 14th Amendment....
