Bayer Wins Ill. Class Action Over Baycol Marketing

Law360, New York (December 18, 2009, 7:19 PM EST) -- Illinois' high court has given Bayer AG a quick win in a putative class action suit over its allegedly deceptive marketing of cholesterol drug Baycol, reversing a lower court's decision not to grant summary judgment.

Asked to clarify several points under Illinois consumer law, the Supreme Court of Illinois also granted Bayer summary judgment in the interests of “judicial economy and equity,” disposing of the entire class action.
