DOJ Drops Text Message Rate Probe: Report

Law360, New York (January 14, 2010, 6:47 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has reportedly dropped its investigation into whether the country's largest wireless carriers plotted to fix prices for text messaging.

The DOJ has no plans to take action as a result of its probe into the question, the Wall Street Journal reported late Thursday, citing unnamed industry and government officials with knowledge of the agency's inquiry.
