9th Circ. Revives Charter Workers' Class Status Bid

Law360, New York (January 15, 2010, 6:32 PM EST) -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has vacated a judgment denying class certification to former employees of Charter Communications LLC, finding that the lead plaintiff’s decision to settle his personal wrongful termination claims with the company did not render class certification moot.

The appellate court said Friday that the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California unfairly denied class certification after plaintiff Hani Narouz voluntarily settled his individual claims in the putative class action.
