By Andrew Karpan (December 14, 2021, 5:34 PM EST) -- A surge in patent lawsuits that accompanied the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic continues unabated, according to a new report that cites a 15% increase in cases since 2019.
Zeroing in on data from the first three quarters of 2021, a study on patent filings from the insurance broker Aon PLC says that new lawsuits have continued to grow slightly, continuing what Aon says has been an explosion in patent litigation that began "around the start of the COVID lockdowns in March 2020."
"Litigations have continued to increase in 2021, although the rate has started to level," the report reads....
