PopCap Hit With $4.6M Jury Verdict In Contract Spat

Law360, New York (January 26, 2010, 5:09 PM EST) -- A Texas jury has ordered PopCap Games Inc. to shell out $4.6 million in damages to MumboJumbo LLC, finding that the video game maker breached a distribution contract with its former business partner when it decided to market and sell its games on its own.

In a verdict handed down Friday, a jury in the 193rd Civil District Court in Dallas County, Texas, agreed with MumboJumbo that PopCap had committed fraud and tortious interference when it soured the business relationship between MumboJumbo and key retailers....
