Obama 'Hope' Artist Faces Probe Into Conduct In IP Suit

Law360, New York (January 27, 2010, 6:13 PM EST) -- The creator of the iconic Obama “Hope” image is being investigated by prosecutors for his conduct in a high-profile copyright fight with the Associated Press in which he fessed up to falsifying evidence, a lawyer for the AP confirmed Wednesday.

Shepard Fairey, the embattled artist who based his image on an AP photo, had asked for a six-month delay of depositions in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York pending the outcome of a criminal probe, according to Kirkland & Ellis LLP...
