11th Circ. Nixes Action Over Katrina Gas Price-Gouging

Law360, New York (January 29, 2010, 1:31 PM EST) -- A federal appeals court has affirmed the dismissal of a putative class action brought by Georgia dry cleaners accusing Infinite Energy Inc. of overcharging for natural gas in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

In a per curiam opinion, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit on Wednesday affirmed a lower court's dismissal with prejudice of the second amended complaint lodged by dry cleaning business owners Byung Ho Cheoun, Shiraz Kurani and Hae Sook.
