Law360 (February 12, 2010, 5:21 PM EST) -- Juries across the nation ordered companies to fork over big bucks in 2009 over product liability claims, with defendants involved in the 10 largest product liability jury verdicts collectively shelling out nearly $350 million.

But while lawyers disagreed as to whether juries were trending toward siding with plaintiffs or companies, they said one thing was clear: Juries are both increasingly willing and able to evaluate complicated claims, and more likely to hand out larger amounts of cash when wrongdoing is found.
