Ex-Bumble Bee CEO Fights Redo Bid In Kansas Tuna Suit

By Lauren Berg (May 23, 2022, 7:16 PM EDT) -- Bumble Bee Foods LLC's former CEO urged the California federal judge overseeing tuna price-fixing multidistrict litigation to reject on Friday a wholesale grocery distributor's bid to revive its suit against the incarcerated executive, saying it just "rehashes" issues already addressed by the court.

U.S. District Judge Dana M. Sabraw in March ruled that Associated Wholesale Grocers Inc.'s claims against Christopher Lischewski were doomed by the need for personal jurisdiction in Kansas, where AWG filed suit against Lischewski, Bumble Bee and fellow canned tuna giants Chicken of the Sea International and StarKist Co., before it was consolidated in California federal court multidistrict litigation....
