Imerys, Cyprus Don't Need To Share Docs With Insurers

By Rick Archer (June 22, 2022, 2:58 PM EDT) -- A Delaware bankruptcy judge on Wednesday said insurers' worries about hidden documents did not require her to order more disclosures during mediation in the Imerys Talc America and Cyprus Mines Chapter 11 cases that runs until the end of the month.

At a virtual hearing, U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Laurie Selber Silverstein denied a request by a group of Imerys' and Cyprus' insurance carriers to require that the insurers get documents shared with talc injury claimants, saying if they believe the companies are hiding information in violation of her mediation order, they should bring that claim to her.
