Pension Funds Try To Revive Charter Securities Action

Law360, New York (February 24, 2010, 3:05 PM EST) -- A group of pension funds has challenged a bankruptcy court’s decision to block it from bringing a putative securities class action against Charter Communications Inc. chairman and Microsoft Corp. co-founder Paul G. Allen and other Charter executives.

Three pension funds on Tuesday notified the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York that they were appealing its Feb. 9 order granting the cable provider’s bid to enforce an injunction that barred causes of actions against third parties released under the company's Chapter 11 plan....
