HP Wants Court To Toss Cursor Problem Class Action

Law360, New York (March 12, 2010, 3:42 PM EST) -- Hewlett-Packard Co. has asked a federal court to toss a proposed nationwide class action over alleged cursor problems with its tablet computers, saying the plaintiffs have read too much into its limited warranties.

HP never lied to consumers about the tablets' quality, since a defective tablet is still a “tablet,” HP added in a 32-page motion to dismiss filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
