Mercedes Bid To Decertify Tele Aid Class Denied

Law360, New York (March 16, 2010, 5:23 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has again denied Mercedes-Benz USA LLC’s efforts to decertify a class of vehicle owners alleging the automaker sold them expensive analog Tele Aid emergency contact systems that it knew would become obsolete in 2008, when cell phone companies switched from analog to digital technology.

Judge Dickinson Debevoise denied the automaker’s second bid to decertify the class in a ruling issued Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
