Gracenote Settles In Song Identification Patent Suit

By Christopher Norton (April 8, 2010, 12:25 PM EDT) -- Technology company Gracenote Inc. has become the latest defendant to strike a deal in Tune Hunter Inc.'s patent infringement suit over a system for identifying music using cell phones and other mobile devices.

Judge T. John Ward of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Wednesday dismissed all claims and counterclaims between the parties, in line with a settlement agreement between the parties.

Each side will bear its own costs and attorneys' fees, according to the order.

The court will retain jurisdiction over the matter to insure that the terms and conditions of the companies' settlement agreement...
