Lend America Loan Officers Win Wage Suit Class Bid

Law360, New York (April 15, 2010, 3:52 PM EDT) -- A judge has granted preliminary collective action status in a suit brought by former Lend America loan officers alleging they were improperly classified as exempt from minimum wage and overtime pay under New York state and federal labor laws.

Judge Joanna Seybert issued a ruling Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York in the case filed against Ideal Mortgage Bankers Ltd., which did business as Lend America, as well as several individuals who were affiliated with the company.
