Funk Legend Wins Remand Of UMG Royalty Spat

Law360, New York (April 21, 2010, 3:56 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has sided with godfather of funk George Clinton in a contract battle with Universal Music Group Inc. over royalties from master recordings with the band Parliament dating back to the 1970s, ruling that a lower court erroneously granted judgment to UMG on several claims.
