DVD Standards Antitrust Suit Tossed

Law360, New York (April 23, 2010, 5:15 PM EDT) -- A judge has dismissed an antitrust suit against international DVD standard-setting organization DVD Forum brought by the manufacturer of a thinner, recyclable optical disc, which accused the organization of trying to run it out of business.

Judge Mariana R. Pfaelzer in the U.S. District Court for the Central District to California on Thursday granted Japan-based DVD Forum's motion to dismiss the suit by Swiss company EcoDisc Technology AG, finding that the court did not have jurisdiction to hear the case.
