German High Court Nixes Suit Over Google Thumbnails

Law360, New York (April 29, 2010, 4:31 PM EDT) -- Germany's highest court on Thursday upheld lower court rulings that Google Inc.'s image search tool did not violate an artist's copyrights by creating thumbnail versions of pictures of her oil paintings that she had posted on her website.

The country's Federal Court rejected artist Maud Tutsche's request for an injunction to stop the technology giant from posting thumbnail previews of her paintings in its image search results.
