Lawmakers Urge Hearings On United-Continental Deal

Law360, New York (May 4, 2010, 6:34 PM EDT) -- Several lawmakers have weighed in on the proposed $3 billion merger of UAL Corp.'s United Air Lines Inc. and Continental Airlines Inc., with some calling for congressional hearings to consider potential antitrust concerns raised by the proposal.

John D. Rockefeller IV, D-W.Va., chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, said Monday that he planned to hold a hearing on how the merger would impact the airline industry.
