Judge Tosses Blockbuster Worker's Overtime Action

Law360, New York (May 6, 2010, 4:50 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has nixed a proposed class action brought by a Blockbuster Inc. worker that claims the movie rental chain stiffed shift supervisors on overtime wages, saying the suit was based on unsubstantiated allegations.

Judge Morrison C. England Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California on Tuesday granted Blockbuster's motion to dismiss the complaint, but gave the named plaintiff leave to amend the suit.
