Google Seeks Ruling That DMCA Protects 'Illegal' Links

Law360, New York (May 6, 2010, 12:09 PM EDT) -- Google Inc. has gone on the offensive against a small record label to secure a judgment that would help protect its search engine business from accusations of copyright infringement.

Google filed its suit April 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, seeking a declaration that it did not violate copyrights held by Blues Destiny Records LLC by providing links to "illegal" download sites in its search results.
