Versace Nets $20M From Retailers In Counterfeiting Suit

Law360, New York (May 6, 2010, 6:25 PM EDT) -- Upscale Italian fashion label Gianni Versace SpA has reportedly won $20 million from a group of U.S. retail stores that it accused of selling counterfeit versions of its products.

Versace said Thursday that the award, stemming from a 2003 suit in a federal district court in California, was one of the highest ever to an Italian company defending its trademark abroad, according to Reuters.
