Judge To Rule On Adelphia Insurance Policy

Law360 (January 18, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A bankruptcy judge is set to rule next week on a dispute over an Adelphia Communications Corp. insurance policy that takes care of the founding Rigas family’s legal defense expenses.

Adelphia is looking to sell the policy back to its underwriters for $32.5 million, but the Rigas family has opposed the move, claiming the sale of the policy would place the family in a tough spot of coming up with funds to pay for its defense costs.
