Appeals Court: Epcot Did Not Infringe Painting

Law360 (January 23, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Orrin Monroe Corwin accused Walt Disney World Co. of stealing the idea for its Epcot theme park from a painting he inherited, but the district and appellate courts have both disagreed, even forcing Corwin to pay attorneys fees to the theme park company.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit affirmed the ruling of the district court in the case in November, but it has since reevaluated the appeal sua sponte and said Monday that Corwin will have to pay costs to WorldCo....
