White Ex-Football Coach Sues School For Race Bias

Law360, New York (May 28, 2010, 3:54 PM EDT) -- The white former head football coach at historically black Savannah State University has filed a race discrimination suit against the university, alleging he was terminated because he is engaged to a black woman.

The suit Robert Wells filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia claims that university officials told him he “would never have the support of the citizens of Savannah because he is white and his fiancee is black.”
