Charter Settles Cable Techs' OT Action For $18M

Law360, New York (June 10, 2010, 2:49 PM EDT) -- Charter Communications LLC will pay a class of current and former field technicians from nine states $18 million to settle a wage-and-hour lawsuit, the cable television provider said Thursday.

The settlement, reached in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, will include plaintiffs from California, Missouri, Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Nevada, Washington, Oregon and Nebraska, Charter said.

“We settled this lawsuit to remove the distraction and expense that comes with preparing a case like this for trial," Charter General Counsel Greg Doody said Thursday....
