Contorinis Wins Access To Federal Investigation Docs

Law360, New York (June 30, 2010, 7:01 PM EDT) -- Former Jefferies Paragon Fund portfolio manager Joseph Contorinis, who allegedly executed illegal trades based on tips from UBS Investment Bank employee Nicos A. Stephanou, has won a bid to compel documents concerning information Stephanou gave the government during its investigation of the trading ring.

Judge Richard Sullivan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York partially granted Contorinis’ motion to compel despite objections from the government that the evidence is protected by law enforcement privilege.
