'Yum!' TM Owner Drops Spat With Nike

Law360, New York (July 13, 2010, 1:45 PM EDT) -- Following a string of failed settlement talks, Yum Shoes has agreed to quit its squabble over Nike Inc.'s alleged infringement of its “Yum!” trademark in an advertising campaign promoting the sporting goods giant's athletic gear.

Judge John McBryde for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas on Tuesday signed off on an order granting Already LLC's motion to dismiss its suit, which accused Nike of running a series of advertisements in Seventeen and Teen Vogue that use the “Yum!” mark without permission....
