Lawyers Push For Top Spots In Avandia MDL

Law360, New York (July 15, 2010, 12:44 PM EDT) -- Plaintiffs lawyers in the sprawling litigation against GlaxoSmithKline PLC over its diabetes drug Avandia have pushed for lead and class counsel positions, saying their third-party payor and government clients' claims wouldn't be covered by the drugmaker's proposed settlements.

James R. Dugan II, of the Louisiana-based Murray Law Firm, asked on Wednesday to be appointed class counsel for third-party payors, according to his motion in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
