Sony, A&E Face Copyright Suit Over Rockefeller Pic

Law360, New York (July 15, 2010, 11:58 AM EDT) -- A Massachusetts photographer has accused Sony Pictures Television Inc. and A&E Television Networks LLC of illegally using a derivative of a copyrighted photo of convicted kidnapper Clark Rockefeller and daughter Reigh in the true-crime TV movie “Who Is Clark Rockefeller?”

Sony infringed Donald Harney's copyright when it re-created his photograph using the actors who portrayed Clark and Reigh Rockefeller in the movie, according to a suit filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
