Rajaratnam Fights To Suppress Wiretap Evidence

Law360, New York (July 27, 2010, 6:34 PM EDT) -- Lawyers for accused insider trading ring participants Raj Rajaratnam and Danielle Chiesi sought to persuade a judge Tuesday that the U.S. government overstepped its bounds by gathering wiretap evidence that helped ensnare them in a widespread probe.

The defense counsel argued in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York that the recorded conversations — the first evidence of its kind used in an insider trading case — should be suppressed.
