Stanford's Bid To Disqualify Akin Gump Falls Flat

Law360, New York (August 3, 2010, 4:05 PM EDT) -- Robert Allen Stanford has lost a bid to disqualify Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP as counsel for defendants Lloyd's of London in a dispute over coverage for the securities suit against the alleged Ponzi schemer.

Judge Nancy Atlas of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas denied Stanford’s motion Friday, saying he had not proven allegations that Akin Gump had a conflict of interest in the case.
