Aussie Court Revives Qantas Price-Fixing Action

Law360, New York (August 12, 2010, 11:41 AM EDT) -- A class action alleging Qantas Airways Ltd. and six other carriers fixed air freight prices was reportedly granted new life Thursday when a full bench of the Federal Court of Australia overturned a previous decision to dismiss the case.

The suit was brought by vacuum cleaner manufacturer Auskay International Manufacturing & Trade Pty. Ltd. three years ago, the Sydney Morning Herald reported. Qantas said it would vigorously defend itself against the suit, which spans the period between 2000 and 2007, according to the newspaper.
