Forgent's Video Patent Survives Summary Judgment

Law360 (February 21, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A heavily litigated patent for video playback technology has survived a summary judgment motion in Forgent Networks Inc.’s ongoing infringement suit against several technology companies in the Eastern District of Texas.

The ruling was issued on Feb. 16 by District Judge Leonard Davis, who rejected allegations made by defendant Echostar Communications Corp. that Forgent’s patent was invalid due to indefiniteness.
