Ex-VeraSun Execs Cleared In Shareholder Suit

Law360, New York (September 2, 2010, 5:09 PM EDT) -- A federal judge found that former executives at the defunct ethanol firm VeraSun Energy Corp. gave sufficient warning of the risk the company faced prior to its implosion to stop a lawsuit brought by its investors.

Judge Shira A. Scheindlin of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled Tuesday that the plaintiffs had failed to raise sufficient evidence that VeraSun's executives knowingly misled investors regarding the company's financial straits.
