Trainees Sue Merrill For Sex Bias, Retaliation

Law360, New York (September 3, 2010, 3:19 PM EDT) -- Four female financial advisers who were trainees at Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. have sued the investment firm, alleging their supervisors discriminated against women and fired them because of their gender.

The women lodged a complaint Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, alleging the firm, now part of Bank of America Corp., violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, New York's Executive Law and New York City's administrative code.
