Insurers On Hook For Defense Of Writers' Age Bias Suit

Law360, New York (September 13, 2010, 5:53 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has determined that four insurers have the duty to defend but not to indemnify Hollywood talent agency International Creative Management Inc. in a settled underlying age discrimination class action brought by members of the Writers Guild of America.

Judge Percy Anderson of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Friday granted ICM's motion for summary judgment with respect to its claim for declaratory judgment and reimbursement for the insurers' duty to defend the underlying suit, while granting the insurers'...
