Argentine Bond Default Class Action Continues

Law360, New York (September 15, 2010, 4:03 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has refused to nix a class action brought by an Argentine bondholder claiming that the Republic of Argentina breached its contractual obligations by failing to pay principal and interest on his bond.

Judge Thomas P. Griesa of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York denied both parties' separate motions for summary judgment Tuesday, agreeing with the Republic's argument that plaintiff Henry H. Brecher's request is premature because a class notice has not yet been distributed to potential class members...
