Classes Pile Up In Faulty Transmission Suits V. Ford

Law360, New York (September 20, 2010, 7:19 PM EDT) -- Ford Motor Co. has been hit with an expanding product liability suit over alleged transmission defects in its 2004 and 2005 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans, with plaintiffs now seeking certification of classes across seven states.

In an amended complaint filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, the plaintiffs broadened their suit to seek class certification in Maryland, New York, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Florida and Maine.
