AmEx Action Stayed For High Court Ruling In AT&T

Law360, New York (September 20, 2010, 4:48 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has stayed a proposed class action against American Express Bank FSB over credit card agreements until the U.S. Supreme Court decides AT&T Mobility v. Concepcion, a case that deals with class action waivers in arbitration agreements.

Judge S. James Otero of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Friday agreed to reconsider his earlier decision denying AmEx's motion to compel the plaintiffs into arbitration and stayed the case.
